Boneless Honey BBQ Wings Recipe

Basic Boneless Honey BBQ Wings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce (one with <1g fat per Tbsp)

  • 2 Tbsp honey

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder, salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 lb chicken breast tenderloins (cut into 2 oz "strips")

Direction

Combine the BBQ and honey in a small bowl. Set aside. Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt and pepper over the tenderloins and toss them to combine. Place a large nonstick skillet over high heat. When hot, lightly mist the skillet with spray and add the chicken strips side by side in a single layer (work in batches, if necessary - the chicken should sizzle when it hits the pan, or it's not hot enough). Cook the strips until they are lightly browned on the outside and no longer pink inside, 2-3 minutes per side. Turn the heat to low and return all wings to the pan, if working in batches. Pour the reserved sauce mixture over them and gently stir until they are well coated and the sauce is warm. Remove the pan from the heat. Let the wings sit in the pan for 5 minutes, and then toss them again (the sauce will stick better after sitting). Vinegar-Based Boneless Honey BBQ Wings Recipe

Ingredients

Sauce

  • 1 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 1/3 cup white vinegar

  • 1/4 cup molasses

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

  • 6-8 cups vegetable oil

  • 20 chicken wing pieces

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 3/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 3/4 teaspoon MSG

Directions

Combine the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until ingredients are well-combined and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes. As sauce is simmering, heat up 6 to 8 cups of oil in a deep fryer set to 350 degrees. Combine the beaten egg with the milk in a small bowl. In another small bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper and MSG. When oil is hot, dip each wing first in the flour mixture, then into the milk and egg mixture, and back into the flour. Arrange wings on a plate until each one is breaded. Fry the wings in the oil for 9-12 minutes or until light, golden brown. If you have a small fryer, you may wish to fry 10 of the wings at a time. Drain on paper towels or a rack. When the sauce is done, brush the entire surface of each wing with a light coating of sauce. Serve immediately. Now, it's your turn to cook your own meal with our Boneless Honey BBQ Wings Recipe.
